Basics Of Language And Linguistics

This book describes the basics of language and linguistics and some related matters in a hundred questions such as:

What is Grammar? What is Language? What is Syntax? What is meaning? What is a Word? What is a Phoneme? What is wrong with ELT, Sociolinguistics or Applied linguistics? What is Science?

The answers to these questions are based on the one hand, on the teaching of my respected teachers in Asia, Europe and America during the last three decades, and on the other, on the works of the great masters of linguistics.

This book is obviously not for linguists. The intended readership would be constituted of those who wish to have a very basic or primary idea about language and linguistics.
